Hypnotherapy to thrive with ADHD
Stop masking. Start understanding.
ADHD shows up differently for everyone.
For some, it feels like a mind stuck in fast-forward, jumping from thought to thought with endless frustration. For others, it’s more like moving through fog, where focus slips away and even simple tasks feel impossible.
It can even look like both: hyper-productivity one day and complete shutdown the next. Like losing track of time, misplacing things, or feeling everything all at once.
No two experiences are the same. But beating yourself up about it?
That feeling is more common than you might think.
Hi 👋 I’m Frances.
I’m a Clinical Hypnotherapist based in Brighton & Hove. Want to know how I can help you live well with ADHD?
Let’s chat.
Do these sound a little too familiar?
“I’m not living up to my potential.”
“It’s like my brain never stops, it’s exhausting.”
“I’m too much.”
“I’m not enough.”
“I find it hard to be myself around others.”
“Small tasks feel huge, I just can’t get started.”
“I feel like I’m always behind.”
“I can’t seem to finish anything I start.”
“I’m forever in a brain fog.”
“I don’t feel in control of my life.”
You’re not alone.
Up to 1 in 20 adults has ADHD. And that number is only going up 📈
No ADHD diagnosis? No problem.
I can’t offer a diagnosis – but I know how long and frustrating the wait for one can be. If you suspect ADHD is part of your story, we can still work together with that in mind. You don’t need a formal label to start finding support, clarity, and ways to feel more in control while you wait.
Why does my ADHD brain do this?
🧠 ADHD brains are wired a little differently. And these differences can affect how we regulate our executive functions.
Things like: focus, emotional regulation, self-control, task initiation, memory and time perception.
It doesn’t mean we can’t do these things. In fact, most people with ADHD will be all too familiar with hyperfocus: becoming completely absorbed in something that captures our interest.
The challenge is often consistency and control. We might be able to spend six hours straight on an exciting new project, but struggle to start that five-minute task we find boring (paying the bills, anyone? 😅). We might be incredibly productive when there’s urgency, but unable to get going when there isn’t. We might have brilliant ideas, but struggle to organise and execute them.
Our brains aren’t necessarily lacking these abilities. They’re often regulated differently.
When we repeatedly struggle with these things, it’s easy to turn them into stories about ourselves: “I’m lazy.” “I’m unreliable.” “I have no discipline.” “Why can’t I just get my act together?” Many people with ADHD quietly carry years of shame.
But these challenges aren’t a reflection of your character. They’re part of how an ADHD brain responds to information, motivation and the demands around us. And in a world that’s largely designed around neurotypical brains, that can create friction.
And ADHD isn’t just a collection of challenges. The same differences that can make some things harder can also come with real strengths: creativity, curiosity, enthusiasm, spontaneity, lateral thinking, intense interests, empathy, and the ability to become deeply absorbed in the things that matter to us.
When ADHD is misunderstood or unsupported, it can take a real toll on our mental health. Overwhelm, anxiety, burnout, low self-esteem and even depression can become part of the picture.
Understanding your ADHD means understanding how your brain works, so you can work with it rather than constantly fighting against it.
With the right support, understanding and tools, life with ADHD can become a meaningful journey of self-discovery and growth.
It’s possible to feel more at ease in your own mind.
And to feel more at home in your own life 🏠 ♥️
How hypnotherapy can help you live well with ADHD
Meet yourself where you are
Self-awareness brings choice. When you understand how ADHD shows up for you, you can learn to work with your brain, not fight it. This shift is where where real freedom begins.
Rewire your mind
The goal isn’t to “fix” you. Because you’re not broken. Instead, hypnotherapy helps retrain your brain, creating new patterns that support the way you naturally think and feel while also making it a little easier to navigate daily life.
Celebrate your strengths
It may not feel like it now, but ADHD isn’t all challenges. Hypnotherapy takes a strengths-based approach, helping you harness the creativity, energy, empathy, and problem-solving skills that often come with a neurodivergent mind. By focusing on your power, your differences can become your greatest assets.
